When I put on one of my classes on crystals I provide a set of handouts. One of the handouts contains book reports. You remember those possibly annoying assignments from grammar school.  Yes I never thought that I would use the skill either.  The book reports cover the forty-some books that I have read and used to build my understanding of the metaphysical aspect of the royal crystal realm. The next few posts will be extracts from the book report handout highlighting one or more of the books I have in my collection of crystal literature. Thanks for your interest and please let me know what appeals to you and if you think that something should be said slightly differently to make it more clear.  Please note that although I post a link to Amazon.com as a source for obtaining a copy of  the highlighted book I do not profit from the sale of a book or earn a commission for the click.

The first book overview is:

Crystal Power, Crystal Healing The Complete Handbook

Michael Gienger
Cassell Illustrated 1998

As scientific minds become more accustomed to the power and effects of new age insight they are bringing a wealth of technically based correspondences into our view of the interactions of crystals and consciousness.  Mr. Gienger’s awareness of the richness of crystal structure and elemental chemistry goes beyond that of the seven simple crystal classes and mineral chemistry groups.  His commentary on the metaphysical connections between extended units of crystal growth coupled with a view of the chemical elements is very enlightening and spiritually satisfying.  Michael has a sound understanding of mineralogy and has extended those aspects of mineralogy deeply into the fabric of metaphysical discourse.  The first half of his book treats his metaphysical world view of the natural substances of the earth and the second half is a lovely picture plate collection of many of the more readily available crystals on the market with a bit on the mineralogy, mythology, and healing modalities of each of the entries.  The index is exclusively devoted to the therapeutic terms used in the book and lists each of the minerals and crystals that Mr. Gienger associates with the therapeutic effect.

Again thanks for your interest and love of crystals
